The title Upper Ark is derived from our location in Colorado’s Upper Arkansas River Valley. Our vision for this publication is to be the home–the vessel, the craft–for literary talent of the highest order.
Initially, Upper Ark will be an annual printed literary journal of short stories and essays by both established and emerging authors alike. Submissions will open on January 1st, 2027 and run until the summer solstice (June 21st). Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis to ensure acceptance or rejection notices are received promptly, rather than months later. The final publication date is set for the winter solstice (December 21st).
