The founder of Mountain Jay Books is proud to have studied at the American Academy of Bookbinding in Telluride, Colorado. He loves the craft and is passionate about keeping alive the ancient art that has been so influential in human history. Beginning early 2027, we will begin to offer rebinding services at itemized prices that cover only the cost of labor and materials. Later in 2027, we will concurrently offer similarly priced fine binding and file formatting services to give you a full range of options.

Rebinding

Give your favorite book a makeover, or restore a tattered classic. This service provides custom rebinds of a book you already own.

Fine Binding

Give the gift of a custom leatherbound notebook, or commission the fine binding of a work from the public domain. This service provides custom books hand bound from scratch.

Formatting

Have a manuscript you want to send off to publishers in style? Want formatted sheets to bind yourself? This service provides a formatted file or printed sheets to bind at home or give to your local bookbinder.
