Upper Ark is our quarterly offering. Published each solstice and equinox, this journal features short fiction attuned to the planet’s great cycles: the flush of seasons; the passage of days; the pull of moon phases; the subtle, sacred patterns that shape our lives. Here, established and emerging authors alike lend their voices to stories that feel both timely and timeless. The care put into each issue reflects our commitment to elevating literature while honoring the enduring cadence of the natural world.

Each year, we gather the finest stories from our two journals and bind them into a soaring physical collection. Stories with Altitude is more than an anthology; it is a summit meeting of both established and emerging talent, a testament to craft refined and courage rewarded.

Have a manuscript you would like published electronically? Submit your work to be formatted into a file readable on all major e-readers! These files can then be either self-published or submitted for review for a more formal publication by Mountain Jay Books (at our discretion).

Are you a bookbinder yourself? We understand that finding sheets to hand-bind can be nearly impossible (not to mention expensive). Send us the piece or links to works in the public domain and we will format them into a print-ready file that you can bind many times over!
